Lester first began judo more than 30 years ago. Although he stopped training for an extended period he eventually returned to Judo at Seidokwan and achieved his black belt.

A chemist by profession, Lester has a calm and deliberate approach to practice and teaching. He is especially gifted at helping young children master the basics showing the patience and pedagogical knowledge needed in this area.
